JOB VACANCY :

1. EXECUTIVE, MAINTENANCE/TRAINING SUPPORT SERVICES.

The Job
The incumbent will primarily be responsible to ensure the provision of conducive learning environment at both campuses in Malacca and Kuala Terengganu. The incumbent is also responsible to ensure all training facilities and training equipment are ready to be utilized and in good condition for all the courses at all times. The incumbent is also responsible to implement the procedures in compliance to National requirements. The incumbent shall also implement systematic maintenance schedule to all buildings.

The Person
• Qualification is preferably Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Building Construction
• At least 3 years working experience in maintenance service for buildings and support systems


2. EXECUTIVE, RESEARCH ASSISTANT

The Job
The incumbent will primarily be responsible to ensure the facilitation and coordination of the research and consultancy services and act as secretariat for the Research and Consultancy Committee. The incumbent will also responsible to provide administrative assistance to the Head of Department and Research Executives.

The Person
• Degree in Engineering discipline preferably maritime based or possess either C.O.C. Master >3000 GT Unlimited / Chief Engineer > 3000kW Unlimited / Chief Engineer (Steam).
• Candidates are expected to have a minimum experience as Chief Officer / 2nd Engineer and reference would be given to those with at least 1 year command experience or minimum 3 years experience as Chief Officer / 2nd Engineer on board petroleum / chemical / LNG / LPG tankers or with FPSO / FSO / OSV experience.
• Minimum 2 years working experience with exposure related to research and consultancy
• Knowledge in local and international maritime rules, regulations and practices.
• Have knowledge on the latest development in maritime industry.
• Have keen interest on research and consultancy.

The Job
The incumbent will primarily be responsible for students' discipline, students' matters and any other programs related to Regimentation System in the campus.

The Person

NEWS

Some 1,500 jobs are available in the public transport industry.

Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (RapidKL) chief executive officer Suffian Baharuddin said among the immediate vacancies to be filled are for bus drivers (350), mechanics and technicians (255) and customer service assistants (170).

Others are security officers (270), traffic controllers (120) and engineers (53).

“The recruitment drive is in line with RapidKL’s efforts to improve the quality of LRT and bus services,” Suffian said in a statement here yesterday.

He said RapidKL needed more operational staff, especially bus drivers, engineers and mechanics, to provide better bus services as its current manpower was insufficient.

Suffian said RapidKL would also start running new four-carriage trains by the fourth quarter of the year and it needed additional engineers and technicians to maintain them.
